Kanonika Series | 2014-2020
The Kanonika series was established in 1992 by the Faculty of Canon Law of the Pontifical Oriental Institute (P.I.O.) as an academic publishing initiative primarily devoted to the study of the Canon Law of the Eastern Churches, both Catholic and Orthodox. For twenty years, until 19 March 2012, the series was edited by Fr. George Nedungatt, S.J. Over the years, Kanonika has published a broad range of scholarly works, including commentaries on the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches (CCEO), comparative studies of the CCEO and the Code of Canon Law (CIC), critical editions of canonical and historical sources, monographs, and the proceedings of academic seminars and conferences. In April 2014, beginning with Volume 20 and under the editorial direction of Fr. Georges-Henri Ruyssen, S.J., the series entered a new phase. It was relaunched with a renewed graphic design and published as a co-edition jointly financed by the Pontifical Oriental Institute and Valore Italiano Editore.
The publishing partnership between the Pontifical Oriental Institute and Valore Italiano Editore concluded in November 2022. Between 2014 and 2020, the Pontifical Oriental Institute and Valore Italiano Editore jointly published Volumes 20–29 of the Kanonika series, together with the revised and updated editions of Volumes 7 and 10. La collana Kanonika nasce nel 1992 per opera della Facoltà di Diritto Canonico del Pontificio Istituto Orientale (P.I.O.) come serie di pubblicazioni dedicate principalmente allo studio del Diritto canonico delle Chiese orientali (sia cattoliche che ortodosse). Il P. George Nedungatt S.J. ne è stato l'editore per venti anni, fino al 19 marzo del 2012. Kanonika include opere di vario tipo, tra queste commentari sul CCEO, studi comparativi fra il CCEO e il CIC, edizioni critiche di fonti, monografie e atti di seminari e convegni. Dall'aprile 2014, a partire dal n.20 e con la nuova direzione del P. Georges-Henri Ruyssen S.J., la collana è andata in stampa, in una veste rinnovata e nella forma della coedizione in cofinanziamento tra Pontificio Istituto Orientale e Valore Italiano Editore. La collaborazione editoriale tra il Pontificio Istituto Orientale e Valore Italiano Editore si è conclusa nel mese di novembre 2022.
Nel periodo 2014-2020 sono stati pubblicati in coedizione P.I.O. e Valore Italiano Editore i seguenti numeri di Kanonika: 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 e le nuove edizioni aggiornate dei nn. 07 e 10.
